Ms. Lapham represents the firm’s clients in the areas of labor and employment law, including providing counseling and training in areas of employer-employee relations.
As a part of her counseling practice, she provides daily counseling and training to management to help employers avoid litigation. She assists clients with employment agreements, handbooks, disciplinary action, covenants not to compete, termination and severance agreements. In addition, she provides training to all employers in areas of human resource management and compliance with state and federal laws. She has extensive experience in assisting clients in navigating and managing complex human resource issues and in defending employers against actions pertaining to race, sex and other related areas of prohibiting discrimination, harassment claims, wrongful discharge and wage and hour claims.
Ms. Lapham was a Human Resource professional for 7 years before practicing law. She was employed with UNISYS Corporation for over 5 years as a Regional Manager, Employment.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lapham practiced employment and labor law at Hale and Dorr LLP and Masterman Culbert & Tully LLP in Boston, Massachusetts. She also served as an in-house employment law counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for several years. Additionally, she worked for Getronics Wang (formerly Wang Global), Raytheon Corporation and Cambrige IS, providing high-level human resource services.
